Good afternoon Guys. How are you all? We stayed 2nights at Lake Hourtin which is situated not far from Bordeaux. Lake Hourtin is the largest Freshwater lake in France and has a surface area of 56.67 km. There are so many activities you can get stuck into like, Kayaking, paddle boarding, yoga, surfing, hiking, the list is endless. It honestly feels like you are on a massive beach and not a lake, I would definitely recommend coming here end of summer, as you get to enjoy it when it's less touristy. You can either rent a house or small condo or simply camp in one of the many sites, situated around the lake. There are many beaches which are only a short drive away, so you can have the best of both worlds. (As long as you are south or north of the lake). The first morning I went on power walk for 1hour and a half, whilst Joshua was fixing some bits in the camper. The landscape and views were beautiful and I actually got lost off the tracks 🙂 . I came back and cooked us lunch for our hike, so we didnt have to worry about coming back to the camper early. We found a secret spot all to ourselves and we enjoyed sunning ourselves in the 26degree heat. We have been very very lucky with the weather, considering it has now come into October.
We are heading further south tomorrow, so will update you all with new pictures
Love K, xx
